Trigonometric Ratios

One of the most important triangles in Trigonometry is the right triangle. The right triangle is the one with a 90-degree angle as its base angle. As everybody knows, triangles are divided into three sides. In right triangles, they are given names based on their relation to the base angle. The vertical side that from the angle is called the opposite, the horizontal side from the angle is called the adjacent. The diagonal side is called the hypotenuse.

These sides share a special relationship which is known as the trigonometric ratios. The trigonometric ratios, or simply Trig. Ratios are simple ratios related to the right triangle. They can be found by comparing the distances from the hypotenuse, adjacent, and obtuse sides. Sometimes the measurements of angles can be used to find them.
